Everyone knows the best thoughts and ideas come from three places
On a walk
While driving your car
In the shower
I’m convinced all great ideas have stemmed from thoughts during one of these three common daily tasks. Here is my latest shower thought that has sparked a bit of fire in me and I’d encourage you to contemplate them as well.
What does your life look like?
What do you want your life to look like?
What are you going to do today to make those answers match?
Instant gratification of our modern world and having the ability to have so much at the click, tap, or swipe of the finger makes it difficult for us to play the long game. You want results and you want them NOW! Not in the 3, 6, or 12 plus months it is going to take to achieve them. I get that and I feel the same way.
But what are you doing today that is going to make tomorrow any different other than continuing to wish things were different? Are you planning more than acting? Are you talking about the thing you want instead of doing the thing you want?
What is the old saying? “Perfect is the enemy of good” or something along those lines.
The only way you’ll get those two answers to match up is if you actually DO something about it.
This is going out on a Friday. If you read it then, don’t you dare wait until Monday to take action.
Don’t wait until the new year. Don’t wait until the timing is right because it is never going to be ideal.
Whatever it is you’re thinking about probably scares the shit out of you. Good. Go into that fear and conquer it.
